A Texas windmill that was struck by lightning made more than a few smoke rings.
A Texas resident captured the flames on video as he passed by and it was picked up by local news. The video shows a flaming blade spinning as the turbine continues to make noise. The flames get worse and the structure collapses.
The creator of the video said that it was pretty crazy to watch.
The windmill is in the background while the agricultural equipment is in the foreground.
Most manufacturers make turbines with basic features. Some farmers have more than one tool that predicts lightning storms. A large wind farm will usually include turbines from multiple manufacturers.
Depending on the size and profitability of the installation, the loss of a wind turbine can have a significant impact on a business owner.
