It was difficult to get a sense of how much the show would lean into the graphic novel's focus on the dead, even though the first glimpse of the show was promising. A new trailer from San Diego Comic-Con shows just how dark the series is going to get.
The latest trailer shows Morpheus / Dream of the Endless freed from his imprisonment and in need of regaining his power. Dream will track down a number of sacred magical items and return to the Dreaming, where dreams reign supreme. The new trailer shows how Dream and Dreaming Librarian Lucienne will have to contend with demons like the Corinthian, as well as escape nightmares like the one that happened to her.
It is difficult to say how much Death and Desire will play a part in the core story. The trailer has a sense of scale that is hopefully going to be consistent throughout the show when it arrives on August 5th.
