With each new addition to the cast, the hype has only grown for the upcoming movie. The cast is stellar, and the revelations so far have been pretty good.
In order to sort out the mess that has become of Earth, the main character, Morpheus, has escaped imprisonment, and is searching the world, and a few different versions of the Underworld, for the magic tools that he needs. The real world has become entangled with The Dreaming in the series. It is up to Morpheus to figure out what is going on.
The cast and crew appreciated the source material and it looks like this will be a faithful adaptation. Dave McKean, the original cover artist for the Sandman comic books, came out of retirement and designed unique end title credits for the series. All the comic book covers were created by McKean. The series ended in 1997. All of the trade paperback editions were illustrated by him.
On August 5, you will be able to watch the movie on the streaming service.
