All it took was personal data being compromised to make T-Mobile customers richer.
A class action settlement was outlined in an SEC filing. A proposed settlement would split $350 million among lawyers and T-Mobile customers affected by a huge data hack. Full names, dates of birth, and even Social Security numbers were reported to have been compromised in the attack.
It could be several months before you find out if you are the beneficiary of a class-action settlement. Once respondents are counted and legal fees are calculated, the money will be split between the customers. It could be December before all of that is resolved.
Someone who has received one of these checks before will probably get a check for $10 per person. A free meal in exchange for your rights as a customer being violated isn't the worst deal in the world
