  • On Friday, Steve Bannon was found guilty of contempt of congress.

  • He accused the Jan. 6 committee of lying.

  • He told the staff to preserve their documents because there will be a committee.

Hours after being found guilty of contempt of Congress, Steve Bannon lashed out at the House.

Republicans will have their own committee if they return to power, according to a warning given to committee staffers by the strategist.

"We have to have a real January 6 committee, including to get to the staffers now and see about the lies and misrepresentations they put on the national television to defaming people."

I would tell the staff to keep their documents because there's going to be a real committee and Republican grassroots voters will say we want to get to the bottom of this for the good of the nation.

If the Republicans take back the House in the elections, they need to take offensive actions, according to the Trump ally.

We need to govern on offense. An oversight committee is needed for every committee in the house. The Biden administration is illegitimate.

He praised the right-wing activist who promoted the theory that the FBI was involved in the attack on the Capitol.

What happened to the Pentagon and the National Guard will be looked at by a Republican committee in January.

Nancy Pelosi did not reject the former president's requests for National Guard troops before the Capitol attack.

On Friday, he was found guilty of contempt of Congress for failing to provide requested documents and for disobeying a subpoena.

He did not testify in his own defense or call any witnesses. He accused the committee members of not having the "guts" to testify against him.

There is a minimum of 30 days and a maximum of one year in jail for contempt of congress.

"I have a long appeals process ahead of me, but I'm not concerned if I have to go to jail," he said.

The ruling was hailed as a victory for the rule of law.
