After spending the night on a train, a passenger woke up the next day to find it had never left the station.

Jim was going to wake up in London the next morning after boarding the Caledonian Sleeper in Glasgow.

He woke up in the morning and realized that the train had never left the station.

In fifteen years of using this train, it has to be strangest yet. The train didn't leave Glasgow. We were thrown off it at 5.30am in the wrong city after it sat here all night.

A charity executive who was travelling for work said that the service was on last night and that they were left sitting here all night. Everyone was allowed to get in and go to sleep.

He said he was woken by a friendly employee and went home.

Serco Transport runs an overnight train service that runs from London to destinations in Scotland at a cost of up to $400 per person.

Serco's managing director apologized to passengers in a statement to The Guardian and said the cancelation was caused by a fault identified on the line late in the evening.

We provided overnight accommodations on board and options for travel on alternative rail services the next day to support guests impacted. Guests will get a full refund.

Serco did not reply to Insider's request for comment.
