The biggest name on the market ahead of the MLB trade deadline is Juan Soto, but other teams are also interested in Luis Castillo.

The New York Yankees, Los Angeles Dodgers, Houston Astros and Toronto BlueJays are in the running, according to Jon Heyman of the New York Post.

In 13 starts this season, the 29-year-old is 3-4 with a 2.77 earned run, 1.077 WHIP, and 82 strikeouts. In his last four starts, the two-time All-Star has not given up a run.

Castillo isn't a rental so he won't come cheap.

According to reports, the usual candidates are lined up. The Dodgers are currently in first place in the NL West and look like favorites to win the World Series for the second year in a row. It would be a benefit to add another top-line ace.

The Yankees have a solid rotation and are in a good position to win the American League East, but Luis Severino's injury hurts their depth.

Adding Castillo instead of a center fielder at the deadline might come as a surprise since Houston's rotation isn't an issue. His addition would make the Astros even more formidable as a result of a surplus of star pitchers.

As they battle for a wild-card spot, the BlueJays would benefit the most from adding a high-profile starter like Castillo. The question is if throwing a lot of trade chips at a single big piece is the right move.

Castillo is one of the top pitchers on the market, so other teams could also be interested in him.
