A Colorado man who had been charged in the presumed death of his wife has pleaded guilty to forgery for casting her 2020 election ballot for Donald Trump

Barry Morphew was fined and assessed court costs after pleading guilty. He does not go to jail as a result of the plea agreement.

On Mother's Day in 2020, Suzanne Morphew was reported missing after she didn't return from a bike ride. Barry Morphew was arrested and charged with murder and other crimes in 2021, but the charges were dropped in April.

The judge barred prosecutors from presenting most of their key witnesses because they failed to follow rules for turning over evidence in favor of Morphew. The possibility of another suspect being involved was raised by the fact that Suzanne Morphew's SUV was found with a man's DNA in it.

The body of Suzanne Morphew has not been located.

Barry Morphew filled out his missing wife's ballot in order to vote for Trump. Colorado went to President Joe Biden.

It was just because I wanted him to win. Give him another vote. He told the FBI agent that he thought all the other guys were cheating.

There has been no evidence of widespread fraud that would have changed the outcome of the election.

Morphew didn't know it was illegal to fill out a ballot for a spouse.
