Three-and-a-half years after it was announced, we finally have proof that Andrew Lincoln is coming back to The Walking Dead. It is a six-episode mini-series due to air next year.
Lincoln and Gurira made the announcement at the end of The Walking Dead panel at San Diego Comic-Con. If you were not at the panel, there is a visual proof that the return of Rick is on the way.
The synopsis doesn't give any firm details.
The love story of two people is presented in this series. It was kept apart by distance By a powerful force. The ghosts of who they were A war against the dead throws Rick and Michonne into a different world. A war against the people. Can they find each other and who they were in a situation they have never seen before? Is it possible that they're enemies? Is this a love story? What do you mean victims? Is it possible that there are victors? Will they find out that they, too, are the walkers?
When we last left Rick, he had just been wounded and flown to an unknown location. The movie will fill in what happened to the former leader of Alexandria after he almost killed himself to save his people from zombies. After finding a clue that Rick had survived, Michonne went out to look for him. She probably found him.
It will be joined by two other Walking Dead shows in 2022, one starring Norman Reedus as fan-favorite Daryl and the other centered on Lauren Cohan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan's Negan. It seems like it would have been simpler to just film another season of The Walking Dead.
The movie has been changed into a TV mini-series.
