The CEO of the World Wrestling Entertainment, Vince McMahon, announced his retirement on Friday.

McMahon said that he was retiring at 77. I would like to thank the WWE Universe. Next, then. It's time now. It's forever. Thankful, together.

On Sunday, McMahon celebrates his 77th birthday.

The wrestling boss, a married man, is accused of having sexual relationships with more than one woman.

According to a report from the Wall Street Journal, four women who used to work for World Wrestling Entertainment signed agreements with McMahon that prevented them from talking about their relationships with him.

McMahon stepped down from his corporate responsibilities while the board investigated the charges. McMahon will no longer have a role in the creative content of the World Wrestling Entertainment.

McMahon said in a statement that he would like to thank his family for their contribution to the success of the company. I would like to express my gratitude to our fans for allowing us into your homes every week.

According to McMahon, Nick Khan will be taking over as co-CEOs and he will be succeeded by his daughter, who will become chairman.

The younger McMahon grew the business into a billion dollar empire from his Connecticut headquarters after working for his father.
