Vince McMahon Retires From WWE

The chairman and CEO of World Wrestling Entertainment, Vince McMahon, is retiring from his position.

McMahon said that it was time for him to retire as Chairman and CEO of the company.

It's been a pleasure to help the company bring joy, inspire you, thrill you, surprise you, and always entertain you.

I would like to thank my family and all of our past and present employees for their dedication and passion for our brand.

Vince purchased the company from his father in 1982.

Vince helped turn pro wrestling into a mainstream phenomenon in the 1990s and helped Superstars like The Rock, Steve Austin, Triple H, and more become household names.

The billionaire is the creator of the wrestling show.

World Championship Wrestling was bought by McMahon in 2001 and he made his company the most dominant in the sport.

He thanked his fans for allowing them into their homes every week. Generations of fans all over the world who have liked, currently like, and sometimes even love our form of sports entertainment, I hold the deepest appreciation and admiration for them.

Vince took a break from his role as chairman and CEO. His daughter was named Interim CEO and Interim Chairwoman.

McMahon made a speech that felt like it was his last one.
