Jay Carney, the top policy executive at Amazon and a former White House press secretary, is leaving the company to become the head of policy and communications at Airbnb.
Brian Chesky said in a statement that he was the perfect person to lead policy atAirbnb because of his work at the highest levels of both government and technology.
After working 20 years as a journalist, Carney started working for Amazon in 2015, after serving as press secretary to former president Barack Obama.
The company said that Carney will help ensure that the communities they are in are strengthened as the company grows.
Forbes asked for comment from Amazon, but they didn't reply.
In his role, he ran the company's public relations and tried to forge relationships with politicians in D.C. Congress wants to pass antitrust legislation and Amazon fights to stop it.
