Triple stepped away from his role as head of NXT and executive vice president of global talent strategy and development in order to have a procedure after having a cardiac event.

Triple H said in March that he had been in heart failure and was close to death. His in-ring career is over after he had a defibrillated chest.

Fightful Select reported in May that Triple H had returned to work after taking some time off.

It is not clear if Triple H is replacing someone in the talent relations department or if he is.

The head of talent relations for the company, John Laurinaitis, has come under fire recently because of his alleged involvement in a sex scandal and coverup involving the company's head of creative and chairman Vince McMahon.

The Wall Street Journal reported in June that the board of directors of the World Wrestling Entertainment was looking into a $3 million payment made to a former paralegal in exchange for signing a nondisclosure agreement over a sexual relationship she had with McMahon.

She was moved to the department by McMahon.

McMahon has taken a break from his roles as chairman and CEO, but he is still in charge of the creative side of the business.

In June, an internal memo was sent by the company stating that Bruce Prichard had taken over as interim head of talent relations.

The title of vice president of talent relations is a significant position in the company and Triple H's extensive experience working with talent makes him an ideal choice.
