75% of the union's members supported the pay deal.

700 check-in staff were going to go on strike in the summer over a 10% pay cut imposed during the swine flu epidemic.

Extra pay for irregular shifts will be restored and workers will receive an 8% pay rise.

The offer is worth more than 10%.

During the busy summer holiday period, the proposed strike action was expected to cause disruptions.

The strike was called off last month after the pay cut was not restored.

Nadine said that no one wanted a summer strike, but members had to fight for what was right.

"These mainly women workers have won pay improvements for themselves, as well as forcing BA to make this offer to the rest of their staff too," she said.

They have forced a corporate giant like BA to do the right thing by standing together.

In the last few weeks, thousands of passengers have been affected by airport disruptions.

Hundreds of flights across the UK were canceled during the week of the Platinum Jubilee in June and concerns have been raised of further travel problems during the summer.

Demand for overseas travel returned after the Pandemic, leading to staff shortages in the aviation industry.
