Bruno believes that the management style of the Dutch man can make Manchester United succeed again.

In his first game as United's new coach, Ten Hag oversaw a win over Melbourne Victory, and in his second game oversaw a victory over Crystal Palace.

He praised the no-nonsense and hands-on approach of the 52 year old and said his ruthless attitude kept the squad on their toes.

Ten Hag gives his latest opinion on Cristiano Ronaldo's current situation at Manchester United and also reveals his desire for the club to sign a new striker

"He wants his rules, he demands a lot from us and he wants everyone on the same page doing the same things," said Tony Fernandes.

They will be out of the team if they don't push the same way. If you want to be successful as a team, you need to be in the same place all the time.

He has his own rules we have to follow but he also wants to give some responsibility to the older ones.

He's strict, but he's also a nice and easy guy to talk to.

I want to follow the straight line that he wants us to follow because I think we can be successful that way.

"If everyone understands that we have to follow the rules, follow what the coach demands and what the team demands, everyone will be on the same page."

Everyone will be happy if we can do everything he wants us to do.

'Ten Hag's philosophy clear'

During United's pre-season, the work of Ten Hag has been clear.

In the early stages of their friendly win over rivals, it was clear the tenets of Ten Hag had been drilled into his players - sharper reaction, surety in transition, confidence on the ball and cohesion without it.

I think it's clear that the team can feel the difference in their style of play. Anyone not doing what he demands will be punished, so he explains what he wants and demands that.

Discipline is about that. There is no way you can escape from that. You can understand the way he wants to play even if you don't speak English.

Senior players have to make sure that everyone is on the same page because nobody can get away with anything with him.

Ten Hag: Man Utd must strengthen with right players

Erik ten Hag believes new signings are "vital" if his first season at Manchester United is to be a success.

Tyrell Malacia was the only new face on a pre-season trip that ends with Saturday's friendly against Aston Villa in Perth, but deals for Christian Eriksen and Lisandro Martinez were struck during their time in Australia.

"We sign Eriksen for the midfield department," the United boss said. "We are really happy with that. "Yes, I am really happy with the performance from our midfield and offence department in this moment, but I also know this season is a lot of games, the World Cup, so we need more options where you have a good team.

"And it's not only about the team, you need a good squad to get the right results at the end of the season. So we have to strengthen the squad even more and we are looking around, but also we need the right players."

Bruno hopes to repay United's faith

After moving to Old United fromSporting Lisbon in January 2020 he scored 12 goals and had eight assists in 22 appearances before the end of the 2020-21 season.

The last campaign was not up to par. He scored 10 goals compared to 28 the previous season, but he is determined to justify his new five-year contract.

The team started getting better results after he came in because the club was being criticized and the results weren't good.

It's hard to be successful as a team because last season it wasn't successful. It was a difficult season for everyone and it was difficult to be successful individually because the results weren't there.

If the team is doing well, that will make me happy and make my game better.

Everyone is expecting a lot from me because my first season was amazing and I only scored 10 goals and 14 assists. I'm aware that I can do better.

It's time for me to repay the trust the club has in me after I signed a new contract.

I am an emotional player and an emotional person. Sometimes I need to calm down, but I'm the way I am. I don't want to lose but I don't blame anyone. I want to see what I can do to help the team.

I talked to the manager and he asked me what I thought about the game-plan and I told him that I had a coach at Sporting Lisbon who came from the same place as me, and I had my best season with him.

My game will come naturally if I follow the rules that Ten Hag wants. The most important thing for me is that the team is doing well.

Fernandes says playing with Ronaldo was not a problem for him last season when speaking about Manchester United's disappointing campaign

The impact of the United and Portugal team-mates has become the subject of intense speculation recently.

While on the club's pre-season tour in Thailand, he told the club that he wanted to leave to play in the European Championship.

One of the issues last season was the fact that United changed their style to accommodate the return of the five-time Ballon d'Or winner.

We had an amazing start to the season, and I am there to serve my strikers. He scored two goals in his first game and after that I scored many goals with him.

I think all of my goals were achieved, so I don't think that was the problem.

Good players can fit together at any time, and that's why I play with him for Portugal.

"I cannot wait for him to come back," said Ten Hag, as he admitted he couldn't wait for the 37-year-old to come back.

Ten Hag didn't give an update on the Portuguese star. The same thing happened last week.

The United boss was asked if he was worried that the longer he stayed away the less time he would have to be fit. It is possible that the word is not the correct one.

The players who are there are doing great. I will focus on the fact that they are in good shape. We will integrate him once he comes in.
