Kevin Weekes reported that the San Jose Sharks are going to hire DavidQuinn as their next head coach. He has a three year contract.

San Jose was zeroing in on the former New York Rangers bench boss as its next head coach, according to a report. Toronto's Spencer Carberry and Pittsburgh's Mike Vellucci were among the final two.

It shouldn't come as much of a surprise that thesharks decided to hireQuinn.

There is a connection between the new general manager of the Sharks and a player at Boston University. The two men played for the university and the Terriers.

The Athletic's Pierre LeBrun speculated that the head coach could be hired if the GM position became available.

During his time as head coach of the BU men's hockey team, he guided the team to a 105-69-21 record, two Hockey East titles and four NCAA tournament appearances.

He served as the head coach of the New York Rangers for three years, posting a 96-87-25 record and leading the Blueshirts to the playoffs once.
