Attorneys for the San Diego woman who initially accused Bauer of sexual assault said in a court filing that her allegations were not false.
She made false and malicious statements, pursued bogus criminal and civil actions, and created a media frenzy based on her lies, according to the suit.
The woman denied that her initial statement to police, in which she accused Bauer of rough sex, was false. She denied that she sought a domestic violence restraining order for "improper purpose" and that the photographs of her injuries submitted in court were altered or removed.
Bauer was accused of sodomizing her without her consent and punching her all over her in two encounters at his Pasadena, California, home in April and May 2021, but he denied the allegations. Bauer and his attorneys called the allegations false and baseless.
The L.A. County District Attorney's Office decided not to prosecute the woman after she was denied a permanent restraining order. Bauer, who accused the San Diego woman of defaming him, was suspended for more than 300 games by MLB for violating its domestic violence policy.
Three women have publicly accused Bauer of sexual assault, including two women from Ohio who came forward to The Washington Post. Bauer also denied those allegations.
The Dodgers signed Bauer to a three-year, $102 million contract in February of 2021. He will lose $60 million if his suspension is upheld.
