The Giants signed Rosenthal to a one-year deal worth $4.5 million for the rest of the year.

Rosenthal signed for a year and nearly $2 million.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, Rosenthal could earn $1 million in performance bonuses if he appeared in MLB games.

Rosenthal has been placed on the injured list with a left leg injury. The home of the Giants' spring-training facilities is where he's going to rehabilitate.

Rosenthal hasn't pitched since 2020 according to the Giants' press release. In April he had a surgery to correct thoracic outlet syndrome, and in July he had a surgery to repair a torn labrum.

Over 23 games with the Kansas City Royals and San Diego Padres, Rosenthal posted a 1.90 earned run average, 0.85 WHIP and 11 saves. He had 38 strikeouts.

Over the course of eight years in the bigs, Rosenthal has 132 saves and a 3.36 earned run average. He played in the All-Star game for the first time in his career. The Detroit Tigers and Washington Nationals had Rosenthal pitch for them.

He didn't make an appearance for the Oakland A's because of an injury. Rosenthal is staying in the Bay Area to help the Giants make back-to-back playoffs.
