A staffer who works for a House Republican was attacked by the House Republicans' official account on Thursday. It was deleted.

"Another liar and pawn in Pelosi's witch-hunt," the House GOP account wrote.

Sarah Matthews was a communications aide in the White House. She is working for the Republicans on the Climate Crisis.

Matthews posted a message on her own account thanking former President Donald Trump and former Vice President Mike Pence for their service to the American people. She published the message on January 20.

The House Republican Conference runs the account on social media.

The GOP ousted Liz Cheney from her position after she criticized Trump for inciting the insurrection.

The House GOP said that the message was sent at the staff level.

The conference was not authorized or the position of the conference was deleted.

The top Republican on the committee is Cheney.

Matthews testified before the January 6 committee that she clashed with some of her colleagues about the need for Trump to condemn the Capitol attack.
