A reputed gang member and convicted murderer who got out of prison decades early with help from Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascon is facing new felony charges.

Andrew Cachu was released in November after the deputy district attorney refused to present evidence at a hearing to determine if he should remain in jail after he turned 25.

Cachu had been involved in a chase.

Lieutenant L. Arnold told Fox News Digital that the person passed out in the car had a gun in the car.

Liberty District Attorney George Gascon was killed in the line of duty.

A vehicle pursuit took place after he came to. He crashed the car and was taken into custody by the sheriff's office.

Cachu dropped the gun during the chase, according to the sheriff's office.

He is accused of driving under the influence, having a firearm, and evading arrest.

Arnold said that police found a lot of drugs in the vehicle.

According to court documents, Cachu was 17 years old when he shot and killed Louis Amela outside of the Sky Burger restaurant.

Kathy Cady, an attorney for Amela's family, told Fox News Digital that he shouldn't have been on the street. The only reason he was out on the streets was because of Gascon's policies and Alisa Blair refused to testify at the hearing.

According to court documents, Amela was shot in the back by Cachu as he fought off a group of attackers trying to steal his bike. The victim's girlfriend told investigators that two men held Amela down as Cachu shot at them.

Cachu was tried before Gascon was elected and was convicted as an adult, court documents show.

Gascon said they were disappointed that Mr. Cachu didn't get the support he needed and that they were committed to holding him accountable.

He defended his office's handling of Cachu'srelease.

"As California law requires, our office reviewed Mr. Cachu's original case, where he had been sentenced as an adult despite committing the crime as a minor," he stated. "Based on the facts of the case and the individual characteristics of Mr. Cachu, we decided that we wouldn't likely prevail in a transfer hearing because we couldn't prove that he wouldn't have benefited from juvenile resources at the time of the original offense."

Cady said the statement was filled with false statements.

She doesn't know which one he is. He's not right. It's ridiculous what he says. People who have done bad things in the community should not be released after a short prison sentence.

As Cachu neared release just six years of a 50-year sentence, FOX Los Angeles obtained jailhouse recordings between the killer and his mother, who seemed to sound overjoyed at Blair's involvement in the case in the lead up to his release.

The Cachu case shows the nation that George Gascon's policies, directives and reforms are a failure, according to Jonathan Hatami, a deputy Los Angeles district attorney. His 18-month social experiment has been an abysmal failure.

The most recent incident attributed to Gascon is Cachu's arrest. He has taken a court battle against his own deputies to the California Supreme Court and has been criticized for imposing short sentences on offenders accused of serious crimes.

Many innocent Angelenos have suffered in Los Angeles. The juvenile offenders aren't being helped. George should be removed from the country as soon as possible because he doesn't care about public safety or families.
