A trailer for The Last of Us Part 1 was released by Sony on Thursday, where the game's directors talked about some of the improvements coming in the PS5 remake. The game looks better than it did on the PS3 and PS4 but it isn't like it's ugly, but the most interesting changes involve the game's mechanics
It was nothing special when it was first released. The remake builds off of The Last of Us Part 2 and makes them better at working together and coming up with tactics that are more complex than running straight at the man with the shotgun. Neil Druckmann is the Creative Director of the Last of Us games. The upgrade to your companions' artificial intelligence should hopefully prevent them from having to act like they didn't notice when running in front of an enemy who then has to act like they didn't notice.
The remake will include a permadeath mode for people who want to try and survive the zombie apocalypse. The game will have a timer in the upper right corner and there is a speed run mode as well.
According to the trailer, the character animation system has been updated, the game will have improved haptics that will make it feel like you are petting a giraffe, and there are some other neat details. If you are interested in the remake, you should check it out.
I don't know if it's worth it for people who haven't played before, but it does seem like it'll be worth it for people who have never played before. The Last of Us Part 1 is going to be released on September 2nd for PS5 and PC.
