The Barbie movie finished production on Thursday, according to the CEO.
Exactly one year before we release it theatrically worldwide with our partners, Warner Brothers, we wrapped production on the Barbie movie. In an interview, he said to look out for that.
The film was called a "cultural event" by the CEO.
The film is part of a larger strategy by the company to become an intellectual property company.
"As we continue to grow the toy side of the business, we're also putting together a strategy and continuing to see growth in our intellectual property and capturing value in our incredible franchise outside of the toy aisle."
After the close of business on Thursday, the company reported earnings and revenue that were in line with analysts' expectations. The toymaker reported earnings of 18 cents per share, compared with expectations of 6 cents per share. According to estimates, this is true.
The dolls segment grew by 5% in the most recent quarter, led by Barbie and Polly Pocket, according to an interview with the author. He said that Barbie grew by seven percent.
