Germany booked their place in the last four of the European Women's Championship with a victory over Austria.

As Germany faced their biggest test yet in their pursuit of a record-extending ninth European title, it was a tighter game.

The ball was hustled by an Austrian defender and crossed into the box where Popp, on for her fourth goal in four games, put the ball in the back of the net.

Popp got her chance in the dying minutes of the match when Austria's attempt to play out from the back backfired and Popp stuck a boot out to get the goal.

This is Popp's first Euros tournament after recovering from a long-term injury which kept her out for 10 months.

Austria missed out on a place in the final of the Euros after being a surprise semi-finalist.

Despite Austria hitting the woodwork three times and putting their local rivals under more pressure than any other side so far, Germany did well to maintain their record of not allowing a goal.

Austria have only conceded two goals at this tournament, but they have only scored three goals and poor decision-making has cost them.

Germany will play France or the Netherlands in the semi-finals on July 27th.

There's more to come.
