Kyler Murray made a large amount of money in the off season.

An agreement has been reached with their star quarterback on an extension.

The deal is worth $230.5 million and has a guaranteed value of $170 million. Murray's annual salary is second only to Rodgers'.

TheCardinals had a lot of time to spare. Murray said the year was a failure after the Cards lost to the Rams in the Wild Card round.

On the day of the Pro Bowl, Murray removed any references to the Cards from his social media accounts. Murray felt he was scapegoated for the team's late-season collapse and was embarrassed by the team's playoff loss, according to a report by Chris Mortensen.

The following message was released by Murray on February 14th.

Murray wanted a long-term extension with the team and had sent a contract proposal to the Cards, according to his agent.

Murray has been with the Cards for four years. One of the league's most dangerous dual-threat quarterbacks was the No. 1 overall pick and he was the offensive rookies of the year.

He threw for 3,787 yards, 24 touchdown and 10 pick ups in the year 2021. He rushed for 423 yards and scored five times as the starter. He missed three starts due to an ankle injury.

In the two years since Murray took over, the Cards have gone from 5-10-1 to 8-8 and 11/6. Despite the disappointment of the Rams loss, the Cards have shown marked improvement over the last three years.

It won't be a surprise that Murray got his contract extension. Expectations are high in Arizona as the team looks to win a Superbowl.
