The app permission list is back on the Play Store, after being removed earlier this month. The company didn't say when the permission section would be back on the store.

The Data Safety labels were added to the Play Store. Apple launched its own data privacy labels in 2020 to show what data an app can collect from you.

Privacy and transparency are core values in the Android community. We heard your feedback that you find the app permissions section in Google Play useful, and we've decided to reinstate it. The app permissions section will be back shortly.

Over the last few months, the Data Safety label has been rolled out across apps, but the Permissions section has been removed from the Play Store, which allows you to see what kind of data an app has on your phone.

The Play Store's Permissions section was removed from the store on July 13th, but no reason was given. They did not explain why they are back.

If you go to the apps menu on your phone, you can check out the individual app, but not the install page on the app store. You will be able to see both Data Safety labels and app permission from the Play Store.

You can easily understand what data an app has access to through the permission section and why it needs permission to access it through the data safety section.

From July 20th, it is mandatory for developers to include the Data Safety section in their apps. The company said that apps that don't comply with the rule will be subject to policy enforcement.

This is the second major Play Store announcement in a week after it was announced that non-game app developers could use alternative payment systems in the European Economic Area.
