There were death threats against Ricky Martin's nephew.
A restraining order was issued against Martin after he was accused of stalking someone.
The accuser is Martin's nephew, according to Martin's lawyers.
Ricky Martin's nephew received death threats before the singer's court hearing on a restraining order.
According to Puerto Rican newspaper El Nuevo Da, Martin's nephew filed a complaint with the police after he received threatening phone calls. The alleged victim told police he answered a phone call from a Canadian area code and heard a man say "If you speak at the hearing, we'll kill you"
He got a second phone call one minute later from a New York number with the same name. Martin's lawyers didn't reply to Insider's request for comment on the threats.
Martin was issued a stay-away order after his nephew accused him of having sex with him.
"Ricky Martin has never been involved in any kind of sexual or romantic relationship with his nephew," Marty Singer said in a statement. As soon as the judge sees the facts, we will be able to dismiss the case.
Nobody has ever filed a complaint with the police in Puerto Rico about the allegations against Martin. The police in Puerto Rico gave the protection order to the popstar's lawyers.
The judge in San Juan will make a decision on Thursday.
The star will appear from his home in Los Angeles for the hearing.
