Paxlovid can reduce the risk of hospitalization for people who test positive for Covid if they take it.

The first lady told reporters that her husband was doing well.

"He's doing fine, I talked to him a few minutes ago." Her office said she tested negative for Covid.

Biden will be isolated until he tests negative for the disease. All of his meetings will be held remotely.

The policies to fight climate change were announced by Biden at an event in Massachusetts. Climate envoy John Kerry and climate advisor Gina McCarthy attended the event.

CDC guidelines don't say if any of those officials are in close contact with Biden.

At the time of the White House announcement, Vice President Harris was in Charlotte, North Carolina, where she was going to discuss the Biden administration's investments in high-speed internet with state leaders. There is no decision yet on changing her schedule.

The first lady was going to visit public schools in Detroit to discuss how federal funds are being used to address students' mental health issues and Covid related learning disruptions.

President Biden had a positive test for Covid-19 this morning. He has been in contact with members of the White House staff by phone this morning and will participate in his planned meetings at the White House this morning.

He will continue to work in isolation until he tests negative.

The White House will give a daily update on the President's status as he continues to carry out his duties while in isolation.

The White House Medical Unit will inform all close contacts of the President during the day today, including any Members of Congress and any members of the press who were with the President yesterday.
