There is a video of Trump that the Jan. 6 committee doesn't show.
Reports say that aides pushed Trump to condemn the Capitol riot.
He denied he lost and deviated from the script.
Donald Trump recorded a video address the day after the Capitol riot.
According to the Washington Post, aides urged Trump to condemn the Capitol riot, call for those involved to be brought to justice, and affirm the legitimacy of the 2020 election.
At one point, Trump tried to call the rioters "patriotic", but he couldn't do it. He refused to say the election had been decided because of the allegations of election fraud.
In a video released to the public on January 7, Trump said that a new administration would be sworn in, the closest he came to acknowledging that the election had been stolen from him.
He condemned the violence, but the message fell short of what aides had wanted.
According to The Post, Trump only agreed to make the video when he was told that his cabinet was going to remove him from office.
CNN confirmed the post's report. The committee members said the tapes would be shown in the hearings.
All of the people who are urging Trump to say something to stop the violence will be shown in the outtake. You will hear of the terrible lack of a response from the President, and you will hear more about how he was eventually prevailed upon to say something.
They said the committee would focus on Trump's behavior after the riot.
Trump gave a speech to his supporters who then marched on the Capitol.
Cassidy Hutchinson said that Trump wanted to join with his supporters but was prevented from doing so by the Secret Service.
He didn't call off the rioters until more than an hour into the attack, despite the pleas of aides and allies.
In a video address, Trump called on the rioters to return to their homes.
