This will be the second time that Cristoforetti has made history in recent months. Since her first post, she has accrued more than half a million followers.

The work session has a variety of scheduled activities. Installation of platforms and workstations to the newest lab, Nauka, as well as the deployment of 10 small satellites to gather radio electronics data are included.

The European Robotic Arm will take another large amount of time to be ready. The crew will work on insulation, install a temporary point for the robotic arm, and move its control panel. ristoforetti will make sure the window shield on the arm's camera unit is clear enough to allow a laser light to guide the arm.

The arm is designed to be used by cosmonauts whether they are working inside or outside the space station. The ability to walk like an inchworm along the hull of the space station is one of its features.
