  • YouTube Music could soon add a sleep timer feature.
  • Google has been spotted working on a sleep timer for the app's Android version.
  • It was one of the Play Music features that Google ditched when users were migrated to YouTube Music.

The ability to set a time when music stops playing is one of the features we have come to depend on. New evidence shows that it's a highly requested option, and that it may be back.

There are strings of code in the latest version of the app that suggest that a sleep timer is in the works. There is a chance that the sleep timer may show up as a bottom sheet.

The option to extend the timer by five minutes will be displayed on the sleep timer. It's a useful feature on many of the best music streaming services.

Users transitioned to YouTube Music a few years ago. It's odd that this option hasn't been reintroduced by the search engine.

If you want to listen to music before you go to bed but don't want your phone to keep playing music until you wake up, a sleep timer is a good idea.

Assuming it rolls out to everyone, it's not clear how users will be able to use the feature. The sleep timer option could be accessed from the main settings menu.

There is no guarantee that this feature will be released to the public. There is no reason for the search engine to scrap it.
