The National League and American League teams have surprised and disappointed Tim. There is a time and a place for it.

The Baltimore Orioles were one of the biggest long shots on the board at the start of the MLB season, and were favored to win just about every game they played. The Orioles are the best bet at the moment.

The Orioles were 2,000-1 to win the World Series in June but have gone on a 10-game winning streak that puts them in the thick of the American League wild-card race. The Orioles are 312 games out of the third wild card in the American League.

Baltimore's odds are down to 250-1 to win the World Series and 15-1 to make the playoffs, and still face seven-figure liabilities, despite being slashed to 25-1 to win the World Series.

Bookmakers say they're not overly concerned about the Orioles yet and are expecting them to level off during the final months of the season, but they also know how expensive a hot team can be.

Eric Biggio, lead baseball trader for Caesars Sportsbook said, "We got burned a few years back withLeicester City, when every bookmaker in the world said they have no shot." Everyone learned that lesson.

The Orioles are 500-1 to win the World Series and the Orioles are 250-1 to win the American League Championship. The O's were the subject of a number of bets by the book.

Biggio said that the add ups add up.

The betting public started backing the Orioles on a game-to-game basis in June. Data from DraftKings shows that the majority of bets were on Baltimore's opponents.

If you bet $100 on the Orioles every game this season, you would have made $1,700, the best mark in baseball.

The Orioles' money line value has improved from the beginning of the season according to Biggio. He said that if the Orioles were a +140 favorite early in the season, they might pick them to win.

The Orioles were one of the teams Biggio was rooting for on a daily basis. We knew we needed that team to win to have a good day. It's changed now.

The Orioles' bandwagon is being jumped on by gamblers in Maryland. More money has been put on the Orioles to win the World Series than on any other team. The Orioles have a chance to win the World Series at 2,000-1.

If the Orioles land a top-tier starting pitcher at the trade deadline, things could get serious. Biggio will still be watching the Orioles even if they don't win.

Biggio said that no executive would be happy when they saw that the Orioles could lose $50 million. You can't just write off the fact that they still have no shot. You have to take it into account.
