Texas A&M senior wide receiver Ainias Smith was arrested early Wednesday on charges of driving while intoxicated, carrying a weapon, and possession of less than 2 ounces of marijuana.
Smith was taken into custody by Texas A&M police and booked into the jail. His bail was posted in the amount of $8,000.
According to the police report and probable cause statement obtained by the Houston Chronicle, Smith was arrested for drunk driving after he was stopped for speeding in the middle of the night. The day is Wednesday. The gun and marijuana were found during a search of the car.

Smith was a team captain in the year of 2021, and was second in receiving yards with 510. Smith has started 21 games over the past three seasons and has 112 career catches for 1,321 yards and 15 touchdown.
Four people were going to join coach Jimbo Fisher at SEC media days in Atlanta. Smith was a three star recruit in the class of 2019.
Smith is the second Texas A&M player to be arrested this year. Before entering the transfer portal, Demond Demas was removed from the team because of an assault charge.
