A Russian court imposed a $377 million fine on the internet giant after it failed to remove content about the war in Ukraine.

The press release from the Russian media regulator highlighted the fact that the ruling did not restrict access to information on the internet.

There was no restriction on the number of materials containing banned content.

The material "discrediting the armed forces of the Russian Federation" was included.

The Russian government imposed a $100 million fine on the internet giant for failing to remove banned content. Meta was fined around $27 million at the time.

A Russian court fined TikTok 3.5 million rubles for not censoring content on its platform.

The Kremlin did not block Facebook in Russia.
