Hornets' Miles Bridges Charged with Felony Domestic Violence, Child Abuse

Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascon has announced charges against NBA forward Miles Bridges who was previously arrested for felony domestic violence.

According to Gascon's statement, Bridges has been charged with one felony count of injuring a child's parent and two felony counts of child abuse. After his arrest, he was released on a large bond.

Johnson provided multiple images on her body as well as hospital paperwork that showed injuries including a concussion, a broken nose, rib contusion, neck muscle strain and bruised lungs.

I don't want it to come to this but I have to speak. I don't have anything to prove to the world, but I will not allow anyone to paint a picture of something I'm not. I will not allow the people around him to lie to protect him. It's immoral and unethical. It hurts my heart because I've always had hope, and so much love, and as scary as this is for me to do, I need to stand up for myself. I will no longer be silent to protect others because I value myself and my children more than anyone else.

I had a broken nose, wrist, torn eardrum, torn muscles in my neck, and a concussion. I don't need sympathy, I don't want this to happen to anyone else, and my kids deserve better. All I want is that. It hurts, everything hurts, this situation hurts, and I'm scared and hurting for my kids who were there. Stop the rumors and allegations, please.

Johnson said that she and Bridges got into an argument on June 28 that turned physical. Bridges turned himself in to authorities after leaving the area on that day.

He is going to be in court.

The Charlotte Hornets released a statement after learning of Bridges' arrest.

The statement said the Hornets are aware of the situation. We are trying to gather more information. We don't have anything else to say at the moment.

After Gascon announced the charges, the Hornets issued a statement.

Before news of the arrest broke, Charlotte extended a qualified offer to Bridges. The Hornets didn't pull that offer before the deadline.
