There is no spring chicken when it comes to name-dropping pop culture in its movies. There is a complicated dilemma for audiences when they do so within the already complicatedMarvel Cinematic Universe. We are mapping this multiverse of movie madness.

There is a fleeting moment early in the sequel when a leading astrophysicist explains the Einstein-Rosen Bridge. She told a fellow patient that they should watch the films in order to understand the mechanics of the bifrost bridge.

The reference is a bit of flash in the pan fun but also a 'Wait a second...' moment for those who are obsessed. Christopher Nolan is a real film director within the comic book universe. Does this mean that Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and The Dark Knight Rises can be seen by Christian Bale's character, Gorr? What does this mean for the film Rises? Is it possible for Eddie Brock to go to the cinema to watch Bane do his thing if Nolan is a director in the real world of the MCU?

I am aware that there are many other actors who have been in the films. Taika Waititi was the director of both the Green Lantern movie and theThor movie. They play different characters in movies that don't have a direct reference to Jane Foster.

After the Hot Tub Time Machine ref, there was a question of whether the actor Sebastian Stan was still in the movie. Yes, we do.

Adding real pop culture references to the MCU is always risky because of this level of mindfuckery. There are mentions of Star Wars in Eternals and Captain America: The Winter Soldier, which is bad news for Samuel L. Jackson and Natalie Portman.

"Referencing real entertainment is nothing new for Marvel," wrote Alison Foreman, who dug into this for the release of Eternals. Following his ice-nap, Captain America caught up on a lot of things. Tony Stark used to make fun of people in the Iron Man trilogy. The Big Lebowski, starring Jeff Bridges, whom you'd think Tony would notice is a dead ringer for Obadiah Stane, his mentor-turned-nemesis from Iron Man.

It's possible that this is a form of relatability among superhero-sized contexts. Tony Stark watches Lebowski the same way we watch him. Maybe we will get wormhole theory if Jane Foster watches and recommends Interstellar and event horizon. It might...

If you want to really understand the Bifrost Bridge, Jane Foster recommends you watch the other film, event horizon. The cult classic 1997 sci-fi film stars Sam Neill as Captain S.J. Miller on a mission to investigate a distress signal from a missing starship. This is the second movie in which Neill appears, as well as the first one. He reprises his role as the other Odin, a member of an acting troupe that dramatises events from the previous films, in the new movie, THOR: LOVE AND THUD. Interstellar's Matt Damon is playing a character named Loki to his own character.

Is this a sign that Neill is playing himself in the movie? Does it mean that Sam Neill, who just happened to find himself in a fictional Asgardian acting troupe alongside Human Actors Matt Damon andluke hemsworth, is also a human actor? Don't expect a reply from him. He said in an interview that he was completely bewildered by his own role in the films, so you are in good company.

The voice of Silver Surfer in Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer is also the voice of Laurence Fishburne, who plays the role of Bill Foster in event horizon. But Fishburne also starred in The Matrix, so he could hypothetically sit down on a Friday night with Steve Rogers, watch Neo and Morpheus take on Agent Smith, played by Hugo Weaving. There is a woman named Jane. OSTER Do all roads lead to Jane Foster watching V for Vendetta and watching Natalie Portman perform? I need help. I want you to see what I'm talking about.

My Rain

They might be meant to be fun or easy to explain. The casual references to movies outside of its own cinematic universe creates a puzzle for viewers who are already scrambling to keep up with internal jokes. Staying on top of almost 30 films and an ever-growing list of TV series in the MCU takes enough energy in itself, but throwing a wrench in the logic of it all with a real-world reference to event horizon. How can we not be focused on Jane's recommendation of the movies when they are right next to each other? I couldn't think of anything else to think about besides the plot of Love andThunder.

There are many references within the MCU itself. Give me a break for the love of thunder.
