Esther Newman is the editor of Women's Running magazine.

A young woman wearing headphones was running alone in London at night to promote her headphones.

27 complaints were received from viewers who mentioned the number of recent high-profile cases where women had been attacked in the same way.

The ad was not realistic according to woman's running groups.

Ashling Murphy, a teacher from Ireland, was killed after she went for a run in January.

The ad did not violate advertising rules and will not be taken to court.

It was not likely that running alone at night would cause harm or injury.

"Although we acknowledged that an attack could happen, that was outside of a person's control and it could also happen at all times of the day or night."

We found that the ads did not encourage an unsafe practice and were not irresponsible.

The issue of women's safety remains despite the fact that it is not false advertising according to Esther.

She said that a lot of women feel unsafe no matter what time of day they run.

Half of all women have felt unsafe walking alone in the dark according to recent figures from the Office for National Statistics.

Esther thinks a conversation with advertising companies about woman's safety and running is a good idea.

The company said it was fully co-operative with the investigation.

Radio 1 Newsbeat was told by the tech giant that it never intended to be disrespectful to ongoing conversations about women's safety.
