Donald Trump endorsed an Arizona state lawmaker who is running for secretary of state.
"Mark is tough, strong, and he loves his state," Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform, deriding Ugenti-Rita as a "Never Trumper" RINO allied with Democrats in the state. Republicans who do not support the former president have often been insulted by him.
This isn't the first time Trump has supported someone. He called him a true warrior in September.
Trump's baseless election fraud claims have been championed by the man.
He is a member of the America First Secretary of State coalition, which is trying to get "America First" loyalists elected in key battleground states to influence election rules. The agenda on the coalition's website says that once elected, the secretaries of state would make sweeping changes to voting systems in their states.
The changes include removing voting machines.
In order to influence the national balance of power throughout the country, the coalition encourages conservatives to support state races outside of their home territories.
President Joe Biden won the 2020 election in Arizona by a larger margin than before, despite the fact that the GOP-sponsored vote audit was meant to affirm their claims of voter fraud.
While the audit was taking place, the Arizona state representative sold t-shirts with the slogan "#proveit" written on them.

The cultlike far-right conspiracy theory movement that indulges in baseless theories such as the one that Trump is on a secret mission to fight pedologists in power has been associated with Finchem.
CNN reported in June of last year that Finchem has supported conspiracy theories in the past.
In October of 2021, Finchem spoke to a group of people.
He spoke on election fraud claims and praised a Mesa County clerk who became famous in the QAnon movement.
The Holocaust was compared to cancel culture by him.
Insider asked for comment from Finchem, but he did not reply.
