The new update will make it easier for users to find local businesses and attractions by adding a map that will let you discover popular local businesses nearby. You can see a list of places nearby and see posts about a certain place on the map.
If someone tags a place in a post or story, you can hit "see location" to reach the location's page. You will be able to find what you are looking for if you move around on the map.
In the Explore tab, you can search for places. If you tap on a place search result, you will be taken to a map.
You can use filters to narrow down the search results so you only see restaurants, bars, parks, or other places. If you would like to check them out later, you can save locations. To access saved places, you need to go to your profile, tap the hamburger menu in the top right, and then tap Saved.
The updated map is now widely available after the company began testing it in a few countries.
Since adding several e-commerce features to its app in recent months, the map feature feels like another move to make the platform friendlier for businesses. It wouldn't be surprising if a similar map feature show up in other Meta apps in the near future, given that Facebook already suggests certain types of businesses and how many features Meta has been sharing between its platforms.
