Georgia prosecutors are investigating allegations of election interference and conspiracy, which could result in criminal charges being brought against 16 would-be electors.

The electors are being investigated for participating in the creation of a document that, in an attempt to circumvent President Joe Biden's victory, identified them as being among the "duly elected and qualified Electors for President and Vice President of the United States of America from the State of America According to court documents, the document's submission to the National Archives is part of the investigation.

According to the filing, each of the sixteen people who signed the unofficial Elector Certificate ultimately submitted to the National Archives received a letter telling them that their testimony was needed by the special purpose grand jury.

The District Attorney of Fulton County is considering charges against the electors. Rudy Giuliani, his legal adviser, and Lindsey Graham, a Republican senator from South Carolina, have all been subpoenaed by the office.

Norman Eisen, who served as special counsel to the House Judiciary Committee during the first Trump impeachment, told The New York Times that this is a sign of a dramatic accelerated work by her.
