The L.A. County District Attorney's Office said Tuesday that Charlotte Hornets restricted free agent Miles Bridges has been charged with felony domestic violence and child abuse.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, Bridges was arrested on June 29 for "intimate partner violence with injury" after an incident in West Los Angeles. He was released on a $130,000 bond after being arrested on a domestic violence warrant.

Bridges is accused of hitting his girlfriend in front of their two children. The District Attorney's Office said that he faces two counts of child abuse and one count of injuring a child's parent.

According to the L.A. County District Attorney, domestic violence can cause physical, mental and emotional trauma. The impact on children who witness family violence is immense. Mr. Bridges will be held accountable for his actions and we will support the survivors through this difficult process.

Bridges is scheduled to be in court on Wednesday.

Mychelle Johnson, the mother of Bridges' two children, posted several pictures on social media in the wake of his arrest of what appeared to be injuries.

She didn't mention Bridges by name, but she did say that she couldn't be quiet anymore. I don't have anything to prove to the world, but I will not allow anyone to paint a picture of something I'm not. I don't want the people around him to lie to protect him.

Police reports on domestic violence arrests are not released by the Los Angeles Police Department. The case is being investigated by the West Los Angeles Branch of the Los Angeles Police Department.

In his fourth NBA season, the Hornets' leading scorer was Bridges, who averaged 20.2 points and seven rebound. The Hornets were able to match any offer sheet made by another team after they extended Bridges a qualification offer.

The NBA was in the process of gathering more information after the Hornets issued a statement saying they were looking into the situation.
