During the company's Q2 2022, executives said that the upcoming ad-supported offering wouldn't include all of the content you can currently watch on the service.

The majority of what people watch on the service can be included in the ad-supported tier. If we launch the product today, the members in the ad tier would have a great experience. We don't think it's a material holdback to the business because we will clear some additional content.

Spencer Neumann said it was a nice thing to have. It isn't a must- have. We can launch today without any more rights. We'll be disciplined in what we do.

We will have to wait and see if there is anything missing from the ad-supported tier. If you can't watch shows like Bridgerton, the upcoming tier wouldn't be very compelling.

The Wall Street Journal reported last week that the company was trying to negotiate deals with studios so that it could include their content on the tier with advertisements. The tier will be supported by Microsoft.
