Seventeen people were arrested during a pro- abortion protest near the Supreme Court on Tuesday. Both pretended to have wrist restrains on while they were arrested.

The absence of handcuffs did not deter the media from making it appear that the pair had been restrained.

There are two photos that ABC News shared with the caption "If they had been handcuffed, they would have put their hands behind their backs."

There was no handcuffs present until the fifth paragraph of the ABC News story.

The Guardian and The Hill had stories with photos in which Ocasio-Cortez pretended to be in handcuffs. They didn't mention that she's not.

A reporter for Minnesota-based WCCO-TV shared two clips of the congresswoman's arrest on social media.

She later said that the end of the video showed that she was not in handcuffs.

Thirty five people were arrested for blocking First Street Northwest after marching from the Capitol to the Supreme Court.

Capitol Police said that police issued three warnings before they arrested the demonstrators. Capitol Police said at about 2 p.m. that the road was open again and the rally had ended.

Some of the lawmakers who were arrested during the demonstration include Cori Bush, and other Democrats.
