Are you aware of the thermal camera videos of people farting? Imagine that, but also with the Sun, which is what we got in a new video of our star.
The video shows a solar storm called a coronal mass ejection, which is a solar storm that creates a magnetic field on the Sun's surface. It's pretty much a fart.
The Sun appears to have "pooted a lil" in this incredible video of our life-giving star.
It just pooted a lil

You won't be blamed for missing the launch of the new GOES-18 satellite because it was fully operational in June. The solar ultra violet imager took this video on July 10.
The expected lifespan of GOES-18 is fifteen years, five years longer than that of the JWST.
This isn't the first time a solar storm has tooted out the sun, and it's not the only one.
There are some people who think that a Sun fart like this will lead to power grid outages here on our pale blue dot, but these types of flares are very rare and usually don't affect electronics on Earth beyond short-wave radio here and there.
We can all enjoy potty humor without having to worry about something else.
There is more on what happens when a solar storm slams into Earth.
