Hunter Campbell, the UFC's Chief Business Officer, said on Tuesday that the UFC is working on a fight for September 10.
Campbell said that both fighters have agreed to the match up. There will be a UFC event in Las Vegas.
The opponent of Diaz's next fight was confirmed by the representative of the fighter.
"This is a fight that Nathan has been asking for since the middle of April," he said.
He wants to fight out his current UFC contract in order to be able to compete in the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo. According to sources, the UFC was involved in discussions about a new contract, however the 37 year old recently made it very clear he wanted to fight out the deal.

Chimaev defeated Gilbert Burns at UFC 273. Chiamev's most competitive fight was against a former UFC title challenger. One of the fastest rising title contender in UFC history is Chimaev, who was born in Chechnya. Since signing with the promotion, he's been perfect.
Chimaev told his representatives in Swedish that he was going to handle the funeral of the UFC fighter.
