Goldman was a defensive tackle in the National Football League. He made his decision Tuesday.
Goldman was with the Bears for six years.
He signed with the Falcons on July 6 after being released by the Bears in March.
Goldman was thought to be considering retirement by some around the football team. He had yet to arrive at training camp after sitting out the 2020 season.
Goldman talked about how much he missed playing while on the sideline.
He told reporters at the time that it was painful. It's like when you're used to the routine, they're warming up around this time, they're having the locker room speech. You're aware of what I'm talking about. Being away from it killed me.
Goldman may have changed his mind about the game after his performance in 2021.
The nose tackle appeared in 14 games and only started 10 of them. He was on the field for at least 50% of the defensive snaps. He hit that threshold nine times this year.
