During a recent interview on "Face the Nation," Adam Kinzinger, a Republican representative and part of the bipartisan committee, said, "I will give you this preview, the president didn't do a lot but gleefully watch television during this time."

Matthew Pottinger and Sarah Matthews will testify on Thursday. After the riots, Pottinger resigned from Trump's national security team. On January 6th, Matthews resigned as a press aide for Trump.

The committee subpoenaed the Secret Service about a week before the hearing. The final presentation is expected to be heard number eight. The committee has painted a far more organized and coherent picture of the administration's efforts.

Hundreds of people have been arrested by the police in relation to the riots. It's not clear if Trump will be charged with a crime. The Justice Department is looking into Trump's involvement in the insurrection that followed his failed presidential bid. According to Rolling Stone, potential prosecution is one of the motivating factors for the former president to return to politics.
