A man working for the police show Law & Order: Organized Crime was shot and killed on Tuesday while trying to enforce a parking ban.
The man, who has not yet been publicly identified, was sitting in a vehicle in the Greenpoint neighborhood in the middle of the night when he was shot multiple times.
Shortly after, the victim died at the hospital. NBC and Universal Television, which produces the show, told several outlets in a statement they are "incredibly sad" by the incident and are working with law enforcement as the investigation continues.
Police said the man with the thin build and black hoodie was the one who shot at them.
The motive of the alleged shooter was not known.
