Please hear what I'm saying, please bring back the NFL 2K series or at least the football game. The Madden franchise needs to be fixed to get it back on track. I haven't played the game since 2015, and haven't rushed to Best Buy on the day of its release to purchase it since Chicago legend Bump J was on the soundtrack. Every year, I see the complaints on social media, and even a clip that was supposed to promote new features, but instead showed a poor game. Madden has exclusive access to the image and likeness rights of the National Football League. The quality of the game is affected by the lack of competition in the US.
Every year, there is a debate about player ratings. Fans are upset and the players are angry. Madden ratings are such an issue that Bleacher Report had Adam Lefkoe, the host of NBA on TNT Tuesday, host a show in which players make the case on the field in front of Madden ratings to have their ratings increased
Trent Williams was notified earlier this month that he was a member of the exclusive 99 club, one of the few players every year that get a 99 rating. He is the first offensive linemen to join that club. It deserves it. Williams was one of the best players in the league. Jimmy Garoppolo was given some much-needed blindside protection due to his blocking.
Davante Adams is one of the members of that club. He isn't the most exciting receiver in the league, but he's a good one. Even though the defense focuses on him every week, his production remains constant. They catch a lot of important passes and the rating feels a little high.
If those two are rated that high, Deebo Samuel is definitely not the 89 he was given. He was one of the best wide receivers in the history of the San Francisco 49ers, but he didn't have Joe Montana or Steve Young throwing him the football. Samuel averaged 18.2 yards per catch with Garoppolo in charge. The man played at least two positions. He was a running back for the 49ers. He should get a 95, forget what I said.
Ja'Marr Chase and D.K. Metcalf both have 87s.
Chase has been a good student. He averaged 18 yards per catch in his first season in the league and was named the offensive rookies of the year.
According to Football Outsiders, in the playoffs, he went up against the fifth- and eighth-best defenses in the league, in the Los Angeles Rams and TennesseeTitans. He averaged 21.8 yards per catch in the two games he played in the Super Bowl.
The statistical argument could be made that his rating is unjust. Even though he didn't get to 1,000 yards, he still managed to catch 12 touchdown passes. You can ask yourself why this player doesn't have a rating in the 90s by watching this play.
Madden needs to get serious if these players are going to make good guests. The gap between them and Kupp and Adams is as large as 10 overall ratings points.
That's the problem when there isn't competition. There is no one who can hold them accountable.
