On Saturday and Sunday, Sly called out the producers of the "Rocky" franchise for not owning the rights to the franchise.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Stallone called David's new book, "The Arrangement: A Love Story," the "worst book" he's ever read. He said that he was "remarkably untalented and parasites."
There would've been at least three more Rocky's if it wasn't for the man. The crew is the worst in the industry.
Insider's request for comment was not immediately responded to by the representatives for the two men. David didn't want to say anything.
This isn't the first time that Sly has complained about his lack of an ownership stake in the "Creed" films.
The first movie in 1976, which he wrote, coproduced, and starred in, was the first movie in which he received a portion of the box office revenue.
In an interview with Variety, Sly lamented that he has never received a portion of the merchandising or licensing revenue MGM has made from his likeness.
"They had 100 different licenses, and they said this would be put into the pot, which would have meant hundreds of millions of dollars over 45 years." I haven't seen that pot before. I was upset. I felt angry. 'Rocky' is on television more than any other Oscar-winning film. You have six of them and now you have two more.
He told Variety that he didn't fight harder for a stake because he was so focused on other things.
The issue is still affecting people.
"I really would like to have at least a little what's left of my rights back, before passing it on to only your children, I believe that would be a fair gesture," he wrote.
"Creed III" will be released in the fall. The Winklers are among those who produce.
