Delta Air Lines will resume service to Berlin in the summer of next year after a long hiatus. There will be flights between New York and Berlin as of May 25,23. During the summer season, the new flight will operate every day. The plane left New York at 8:40PM and arrived in Berlin at 10:50PM. There is a block on the 3,973-mile flight. There are 216 seats, including Delta One, Comfort+, and Main Cabin, in the Boeing 767-300ER that Delta will use.
The last time Delta flew to Berlin, it flew to Berlin Tegel Airport, but it no longer has commercial traffic. The airline has struggled to maintain service in the market even before the economic downturn.
Despite being Germany's most populous city, there has been no consistent service to the airport from the US. Things are moving in the correct direction. United and Norse Atlantic have both announced plans to operate flights from Berlin to New York and Los Angeles.
We could see three airlines flying between Germany's capital and the New York City area now that Delta has resumed flights to Berlin.
Why has Berlin not been able to maintain long haul connections? A number of factors have contributed to this.
There is so much to see and do in Berlin. The way I see it is that it is a city that has been screwed by its airport setup in terms of access to the internet.
The route between New York and Berlin will be brought back by Delta. It is nice to see this route come back after four years. It will be possible for United to fly between the New York area and Berlin.
